July 17, 2002 – The following release was faxed to the news media on Wednesday under the headline "Senator Samuel express regret for phones out of order":
"Senator Norma Pickard-Samuel today is expressing her apologies to residents who were unable to contact her office Wednesday (7-17-02) due to the inoperable phone service. Senator Pickard-Samuel said that she regrets any inconveniences that the general public may have experienced and stated that corrective actions are already in progress."
