Aug. 15, 2002 – Holders of firearms licenses are reminded that notification in writing must be made of any change of address during the applied licensed period and that owners of firearms are required to obtain permission to purchase any weapon or to import a weapon from off island. Anyone acquiring a firearm prior to receiving permission through the Virgin Islands Police Department's Firearms Bureau will run the risk of not having their firearm registered.
Firearm licenses can be renewed up to 90 days prior to expirations.
