Nov. 5, 2002 The second annual Jazz in the Moonlight concert series will be held Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. Presented by producer, recording artist and St. John resident Steve Simon and The Moonlight Foundation, this free concert stars jazz pianist Roan Creque on the beach at the Westin St. John Resort.
Featured artists include Harlem jazz great Bill Saxton from the Duke Ellington and Count Basie Orchestras on saxophone, St. Thomas son Dion Parson on drums, New York City jazz singer Anna Tucker and special guest artists from Chicago, Miami and the Virgin Islands.
Free round-trip passenger ferry service will be provided from Red Hook to the Westin on the Westin ferry, courtesy of The Moonlight Foundation. The ferry leaves Red Hook at 7:15 p.m. and returns at approximately 11 p.m.
Full beverage service and a light menu will be available. Admission is free. Dress is island fancy.
Other upcoming Jazz in the Moonlight concerts include Hilario Duran and Roberto Occhipinti at the Westin Resort on Dec. 28; and the Big City Blues Band and Jimmy & The Blues Masters at Coral Bay Ballfield on March 1.
