Jan. 29, 2003 – Tutu Park Mall and students from local elementary and high schools are uniting to present the much awaited second annual "Step into Your History: Celebrating Black History" step show competition.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, schools will vie for the title of "Tutu Park Mall's Best Black History Step Interpretation 2003" and cash prizes. They will be judged and awarded points based on time, appearance, step routine and lyrics.
Earlier the same date, Sigma Theta Omega Sorority will present a Black Arts Festival. Art forms such as dance, drama, music, poetry drawing and painting, will be presented to further explore the interpretation of Black history.
