March 27, 2003 – The University of the Virgin Islands will hold its 24th annual Career and Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at the Sports and Fitness Center on UVI's St. Thomas campus.
UVI students and graduates, as well as high school students and the general public, are invited to participate in the free career fair. Students and the public are also invited to participate in a health fair, which will also take place in the Sports and Fitness Center at the same time.
The career fair will feature representatives from more than 30 companies and government agencies who will be available to share information and answer questions about the requirements for certain careers, about qualifying for summer internships, and the availability of full-time positions.
Companies and agencies confirmed to participate in the fair include First Bank, Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Resort, the Renaissance Grand Beach Resort, Westin Resort, Innovative Communications, Hovensa, Coral World, the V.I. Personnel Department, the V.I. Tourism Department, the V.I. Public Television System and UVI Human Resources.
The health fair will feature free blood glucose, blood pressure, HIV and visual acuity screenings. Participating health agencies include the Department of Health's Division of Dental Health Services, Watergate Wellness Center, Community Health Nursing, American Red Cross, Healing Nature's Way, As a Matter of Fact Wellness Center and the Rural Health Outreach Mobile Unit.
