May 27, 2003 — A short course titled "Pre-Construction Planning for Property Owners" is being presented on all three islands for potential builders interested in a more environmentally friendly way of building on and landscaping the property.
The University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service is conducting the free seminar, which focuses on assessing a property's physical conditions, managing stormwater, conserving soil and environmental landscaping.
Real estate agents, homeowner associations, community groups and all V.I. residents planning to build a home are encouraged to attend the course.
This course is being presented on St. John on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the St. John CES office; on St. Thomas on Thursday, May 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the UVI Sports and Fitness Center Training Room; and on St. Croix on Tuesday, June 3, from 7-9 p.m. at the UVI Research and Extension Center, room 133.
