Sept. 12, 2003 – In recognition of Labor Awareness Month, V.I. Labor Department Commissioner Cecil R. Benjamin has announced that the Department's offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix will be closing for a one-day Professional Staff Development Activity.
Labor Department staff will spend this day participating in a series of seminars and workshops designed to enhance customer service, career development and motivational techniques, according to a Department release.
"These seminars give us a unique opportunity to continue in our commitment to transform this agency into a highly effective and modern organization that delivers quality services to job seekers and employers of the Virgin Islands," Benjamin stated in the release.
Labor offices on St. Thomas will be closed on Friday, Sept. 19; St. Croix's offices will be closed Friday, Sept. 26.
