Jan. 11, 2004 — Victor Emanuel Monsanto of Brookman, St. Thomas, died Jan. 2 in New York at the age of 83. Known as San-To, he was a retired Police officer, and had also worked at V.I. Public Works department.
Viewing will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at New Herrnhut Moravian Church. The funeral will follow the viewing at 10 a.m., with burial at Brookman and arrangements by Davis Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Lucia Monsanto; daughters, Naomi, Shirley and Pauline Monsanto and Acia Monsanto Donahue; sons, Clarence and Allessio Monsanto; sister, Naomi Monsanto Vessup; adopted son, Halvor VanHeyningen; adopted daughters, LaVerne Best Yard and Karen Goza; son-in-law, Victor Donahue Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ivy Thomas Monsanto; sisters-in-law, Mildred A. Lang, Cheryl Mason and Yvonne Monsanto; nieces, Jean P. Simmonds, Janet D.
