HISTORY AND HIKING AT SION HILL 'RUINS RAMBLE'

Feb. 20, 2004 – History and hiking combine again for a good match as the St. Croix Landmarks Society presents a Ruins Ramble at Estate Sion Hill, starting at 3:30 on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The estate, one of the best-preserved plantation and factory sites on St. Croix, includes a restored greathouse, waterworks and hidden ruins. George Tyson will give the historical interpretation to participants.
This is a moderate hike, a release said; wear shorts and walking shoes. Refreshments will be served after the hike.
The meeting place is Sion Farm Ballpark. From Queen Mary Highway (Rte. 70), turn north at the entrance to Estate Sion Farm (Rte. 81) and travel approximately one-half mile north. The ballpark is on the left.
Admission is $12, or $8 for Landmarks Society members and $6 for students.
