April 16, 2004 — The Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands annual auction is May 7, at Wyndham Sugar Bay resort in St. Thomas. A press release from the club says, "In combining the usual bargains – gift certificates for restaurants, hotel accommodations, transportation, original art and special services – with unusual bargains, there will be a fantasy component."
The fantasies are described as running "the gamut from the simple to the sublime."
Bidders will have opportunities for special dates, tickets to VIP events, personalized services and some adventures.
A list of most auction items will be posted on the Ad Club Web site a week before the event.
Door prizes will be given during cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the resort's garden terrace at 6 p.m. on the resort's garden terrace and throughout the auction, 7 to 9 p.m. The ten-dollar admission ticket includes wine, hors d'oeuvres, and bidding number. There also will be a cash bar. Proceeds benefit the Ad Club's summer Intern Progam and Professional Series. To donate goods or services or to reserve a ticket, call 340-693-8883.
