CORAL BAY COUNCIL INVITES ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

0

April 27, 2004 – The Coral Bay Community Council is sponsoring a contest so residents can get creative in expressing their vision for the area.
The focus for the contest is "What's important about Coral Bay? And what do you see happening?" Sharon Coldren, council president, said.
She said participants should consider what they like about living in the community, what they want it to look like in the future, and what they think it will look like in 10 years if development continues at the same or a greater pace.
The contest is part of the council's effort to develop a plan for Coral Bay. Participants can use any artistic medium — painting, essay, poetry, calypso, collage, photograph, mixed media, or any thing else that strikes their fancy — to communicate their views.
The contest is open to all Coral Bay area residents. Prizes donated by area merchants will be awarded to winners in four categories: kindergarten through grade 2, grades 3-7, grades 8-12, and adult.
Entries are due June 1. They should be delivered to the Coral Bay Community Council office in Coral Bay or dropped off at Connections East in the Skinny Legs compound; each entry should be accompanied by an entry form.
Forms may be obtained at Connections East or requested by e-mail to Coral Bay Community Council. For more information, call the office at 776-2099.
