May 20, 2004 – V.I. Basketball Federation's Balling with Life project is continuing at V.I. schools this week and next.
This program is the fifth in a series of eight to be presented in 2004 by the Federation and sponsored by the Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission.
The lectures and clinics series promotes juvenile justice and works to prevent delinquency.
Taking the message to the territory elementary schools in May is Glenn "Kimble" Williams. Williams graduated from St. John's University; he is an inductee in the St. John's University and the Virgin Islands Sports Hall of Fame, and the Associate Head Coach of the Virgin Islands Senior Men National Basketball Team.
The first of his lectures was on St. Croix, May 18 — Alexander Henderson School in the morning and Eulalie Rivera School in the afternoon.
The rest of the St. Croix schedule is as follows:
May 19, Claude O. Markoe School, morning and Evelyn Williams School, afternoon
May 20, Ricardo Richards School, morning and Pearl B. Larsen School, afternoon.
May 21, Lew Muckle School, morning.
May 24, Charles H. Emmanuel School, morning and Juanita Gardine School, afternoon.
The Federation is scheduling the program at schools in the St. Thomas-St. John district next week. Anyone with questions is invited to call Usie Richards at 712-2320.
