Water Applications Available for New Tutu, The Valley

0

June 22, 2004 – The Water and Power Authority is accepting applications for connection to the potable water distribution system being installed in The Valley and the New Tutu areas. The authority plans to begin supplying potable water there by November.
Residents of The Valley and New Tutu who want to receive potable water should apply at the authority’s Customer Services Office in Sub Base. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
Applicants should not install plumbing for the water service until utility personnel make a site visit and identify the location of the service connection, according to a WAPA release.
The $1.7 million project to serve The Valley and New Tutu is Phase 1A of WAPA's overall project to extend potable water service to the Smith Bay area and, via underwater cable, to St. John. It is being funded in part by $1 million from the V.I. government.
