Roads to Be Closed for July 3 and 4 Events

July 1, 2004 – The following parking restrictions will be in place for Saturday's Emancipation Day and Sunday's Fourth of July observances in Frederiksted.
According to St. Croix Deputy Police Chief Herminio Velazquez, any vehicles found parked in restricted areas will be ticketed and/or towed at the owners' expense.
Also, a Police Department release stated, vendors will not be permitted to do business within 1,000 feet of Buddhoe Park unless they obtain a special permit to do so.
Saturday
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking from 3 a.m. until the completion of activities at Buddhoe Park and the Midre Cummings Recreational Facility:
– Strand Street from the intersection of Market Street north to Buddhoe Park.
– King Street from the intersection of Market Street to the northern end of Midre Cummings Park.
– Lagoon Street from the intersection of Queen Street west to King Street.
– The parking area between the UCA Building and the Oscar Henry Building.
Sunday
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking from 6 a.m. until the completion of activities in Buddhoe Park:
– Strand Street from the intersection of Market Street north to Buddhoe Park and east to King Street.
– Customs House Street from the intersection of King Street to Strand Street.
– The parking area located between the UCA Building and the Oscar Henry Building.
