July 2, 2004 – Three V.I. high school students participated in a recent National African American Youth Initiative program on health-care professions that was sponsored by the National Medical Association Auxiliary.
Taking part in the week-long program in Washington, D.C., were LaToya Donastorg and Joi Jackson of St. Thomas and Raymond Simon of St. Croix, according to a release from Delegate Donna M. Christensen.
The program is aimed at providing medical-field career information to African-American students from throughout the nation who are interested in the health-care professions.
During their week in the nation's capital, the students visited various hospitals and the National Institutes of Health as the guests of Christensen and other Congressional Black Caucus members, the release stated.
