Sept. 7, 2004 – Joseph Warrington Griffith, better known as Pa Ton, died on Sept. 4 at 10:15 a.m. at the Juan F. Luis Hospital.
His wife Roseline Griffith of # 81 Strawberry Hill, St. Croix, survives him.
His surviving 22 sons are Dr. Kendall Griffith, cardiologist at the Juan Luis Hospital; Bernard and Octave Griffith, Hovensa; John Baptist Griffith, Procurement; Dr. Denis Griffith and Arthur Joseph UVI, St. Croix; Luke Marcus and Martin Griffith in Boston; Augustus Griffith in Florida; Paul Frederick, St. Croix; Julian Chooran, physical education teacher at Lew Muckle Elementary School; Hilary Chooran, St.Croix; Linus Chooran, U.S. Navy; Eugene and John Chooran, Tennessee; Frank, Fitz, Stephen and Joseph Griffith, St. Lucia; Allison Griffith, St. Croix; and adopted son Andrew Dolor, St. Croix.
His 11 surviving daughters are Lydia Crump, St. Croix; Melinda, Tallahassee, Fla.; Cybil, St. Lucia; Magella, Tennessee; Elysie and Marie, Atlanta; Lisa, St. Croix; Yolanda, Florida; Sheila, Magadeline and Babsie, St. Lucia.
He is survived by five sons-in-law, 14 daughters-in-law, 30 grandchildren, about 50 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives in St. Lucia, other Caribbean Islands, England and the United States too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, Sept. 17 at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Kingshill Cemetery.
