Nov. 6, 2004 – The Coral Bay Community Council will hold its annual meeting Nov. 8 at the John's Folly Learning Institute. The public meeting begins at 6 p.m. and includes refreshments.
President Sharon Coldren said the agenda includes discussion of the organization's accomplishments since the group formed a year ago and setting priorities for the upcoming year.
She said accomplishments include signing up 209 people as members, getting non-profit status and the development of a vision for Coral Bay.
Coldren said the first phase of the vision process, which looked for input from all residents who cared to participate, should be done soon.
Coldren said even with 209 members the council is seeking more participation from community members
Additionally, at the meeting, the group will honor its volunteers. "With applause," Coldren said, noting the organization operated with a small budget.
In addition to Coldren, the board includes vice-president Alvis Christian, treasurer Jean Cottrell, secretary Marie Naisby, and members Beulah Dalmida-Smith, Joan A. Thomas, Kent Irish, and Bonnie Blair. For information, call the Coral Bay Community Council at 776-2099.
