Nov. 11, 2004 — Joseph Jarvis, also known as "Papa John," of Estate Bovoni, died Nov. 2 at Roy L. Schneider Hospital. Jarvis was 83.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth "Momma John" Jarvis; sons, Robert Meade, Errol, James and John Nisbett and Kelvin Jarvis; daughters-in-law, Marlene and Ethlyn Nisbett and Tonya Jarvis; special adopted daughters, Eva Donovan, Rita Medina and Christian DeRios; adopted grandchildren, Isham, Michael and Jamal Donovan; brothers-in-law, Eli Nisbett of Nevis and James Nisbett of St. Croix; sisters-in-law Doris Alexander of St. Lucia, and Agnes Coker, Alice Webb, and Francille Duncan, all of England; extended family, Adeline Cline, Celia Hill and family and Christina Hicks. Jarvis had 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a viewing at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Western Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Davis Funeral Home.
