Nov. 18, 2004 – Joseph Alphonso Butler, age 54, also known as "Hammers," of Mutual Homes, died at the Gov. Jaun F. Luis Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Olvis Butler; mother, Sylvia Butler; daughters, Zareena Walters-Dailey, Kimone and LaSherna Walters; sons, Alphonso, Jeremy and Kyam Butler; sisters, Dorren and Alice Butler, Addi and Louletta Rouse; brothers, Donald Cable and Radford Matthews; nieces, Lisa and Reda Butler and Dianna Rouse; nephew, Inskip Butler; sisters-in-law, Sheila Prince of Ariz., Melissa Hanley and Pearl Clarke; brothers-in-law, Caedmon Walters of Md., Anthony Walters of Ga., and Nigel Walters; close friends, Pastor Alsender Williams, Rev. Melba Williams, Brother and Sister LaPlace, Sister Elizabeth Bryan and family, Sister Helen Liburd and family, Brother and Sister Morris, Brother Chapman and family, Cynthia Charles, the Wilson family, Madline Shadrach, Albert Huggins and family, Brother George Weeks and family, the Perpie family, and the Wesleyan Church family of St. Croix.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, with a viewing at 9 a.m. at the Midland Wesleyan Holiness Church, Est. Calquohoun. Burial will follow at Kingshill Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to James Memorial Funeral Home.
