10th Annual AIDS Walk is Saturday

Nov. 30, 2004 – V.I. Community AIDS Research and Education will hold its 10th annual AIDS Walk fund-raiser this Saturday.
The walk begins and ends at the Lawaetz Museum on Mahogany Road, Frederiksted. The walk is a five-mile loop through the rainforest. Registration is at 6:30 a.m.; 7:30 a.m. start.
There is a $10 minimum donation; participants are encouraged to raise pledges.
Pledge forms are available at Gallows Bay Hardware, V.I. Family Sports and Fitness Center, America's Paradise Gym, Curves, Plaza Extra, People's Drug Store and the VICARE office.
VICARE is the only non-profit 501(c)(3) organization on St. Croix dedicated providing HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services. VICARE was created in 1994 to educate the people of the Virgin Islands about the prevention of HIV infection and to support and care for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Currently VICARE provides vital HIV prevention programs to youth, substance users, women and the incarcerated populations, and also conducts free HIV testing and counseling for the St. Croix community. VICARE also provides a support group, housing, and emergency assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS.
