V.I. Youngsters Invited to Governor's Christmas Parties

Dec. 1, 2004 — Children in the territory can look forward to receiving a few Christmas presents a little early this year.
Gov. Charles W. Turnbull announced Wednesday that his annual Children's Christmas Party will take place Dec. 10 on St. Croix, Dec. 14 on St. Thomas and Dec. 20 on St. John this year.
Gifts will be given to children ages 4 to 10. Also various bands, choirs and dancers will perform for the little ones while they feast on the food and drinks provided. A raffle drawing and various other fun events are also scheduled as part of the festivities, a release from Government House stated.
The children's party on St. Croix will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Agriculture Fairgrounds on Dec. 10.
On St. Thomas, the children's party will take place at Emancipation Garden from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., Dec. 14.
The children's party on St. John will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cruz Bay Park bandstand, Dec. 20.
Parents are asked to accompany their children to the event.
Turnbull commended Mavis Turnbull Richards, St. John Administrator Julian Harley and St. Croix Administrator Gregory Francis for their work in ensuring the success of this year's Children's Christmas parties.
