Spring Semester Tuition and Fee Payment Deadline Extended to Dec. 22
In response to requests from students, the University of the Virgin Islands has extended the payment deadline for Spring Semester 2004 tuition and fees until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22.
Failure to make full payment by the new deadline will result in the cancellation of classes.
Late Registration will be conducted on Jan. 12 and 13, 2005, for students who did not register on time and for students whose classes were cancelled due to non-payment. In addition to tuition and fees, a late registration fee of $75 will be charged.
Students receiving financial aid, are advised to contact the UVI Cashier's Office to have charges accepted.

Orientation Schedules for Spring Semester 2005 Available Online
Student orientation schedules for UVI's 2005 Spring Semester on both the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses are now available on the UVI web site. The orientation information is available from a link on the UVI home page – www.uvi.edu.
UVI Hosting Holiday/Sunsational Basketball Action
UVI's men's and women's basketball teams are hosting NCAA Division II and III teams from throughout the U.S. in the annual Sunsational Basketball Tournament at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas campus. Play continues today through Jan. 2, 2005. Admission to all games is free for UVI students with student IDs and just $2 for the general public.

UVI 2004-2005 Administrative Recess to Begin Dec. 24
University of the Virgin Islands administrative offices will be closed from Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, through Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, for an administrative recess. The last day of work for UVI employees this year will be Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004. All offices will re-open on Monday, Jan. 10, 2005.

Forensic Science Course for Criminal Justice Professionals Offered
Criminal justice professionals are invited to take a Biological Evidence in Forensic Science course, PSA 265, at the University of the Virgin Islands during the 2005 Spring semester. The course is part of the Police Science and Administration major, but is not a PSA requirement.
The course will be offered via video conference on both the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses from 9 to 11:40 a.m. on Saturdays. It will examine various types of biological evidence obtained from a crime scene and analyzed in a laboratory. Pre-requisites include either Introduction to Law Enforcement (PSA 120), General Biology (BIO 141) or Changes in the Natural World (SCI 200).
Registration for new students will be held on Jan. 10-12, 2005. Late registration is from Jan. 12-13. The cost of this three-credit-hour course for Virgin Islands residents is $273, plus $65 in fees. Afternoon on the Green Theme Contest Announced
The University of the Virgin Islands Afternoon on the Green Committee invites members of the community to participate in the Afternoon on the Green 2005 Theme Contest. Themes should be catchy, creative and reflect the spirit of the event. Afternoon on the Green, the islands premier food, family and fun event, will be held on March 6, 2005, on the UVI St. Thomas campus golf course. It will be the 16th year of the event. The person who contributes the winning theme will receive $10 worth of taste tickets for Afternoon on the Green and an AOG t-shirt.
Seminar on Human Impact on Small Island Ecosystems Set Jan. 11
The University of the Virgin Islands and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency invite the public to attend a seminar, "Human Impacts on Small Island Ecosystems," to be presented by Dr. Richard Nemeth, director of UVI's Center for Marine and Environmental Studies. Dr. Nemeth will address the status of our marine ecosystems, how we have impacted these ecosystems and what we can do to help them recover.
The seminar is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11. It will be held in UVI's Chase Auditorium (Business Education room 110) on the St. Thomas campus and videoconferenced to UVI's Evans Center Theater (EC-401) on the St. Croix campus. Students Who Paid Yearbook Deposit Should Contact Activities Office
UVI Students who paid a deposit for the 2004 UVI Yearbook are asked to contact the Student Activities Office at 693-1111. During the Dec. 24, 2004 to Jan. 7, 2005 UVI break, messages can be left with contact numbers and e-mail addresses.
