Jan. 8, 2005 – Khyra Thomas, 10, of the Hounds & Foxes Track Club was the first-place finisher in the 18th annual Children Race Friday in Frederiksted. She logged a time of 3 minutes and 6 seconds over the half-mile distance from the parade start down King Street.
Three fourths of the way, nine-year-old Jazmine Willock moved into second place ahead of the early leader, Sydney Rogers, to finish second in 3:12 to Rogers' 3:13, making a Hounds and Foxes sweep of the first three places.
Seven year old Johnathon Doward of the Heatwave Track Club was the first-place male with a time of 3:33. Jamal Brewster was second in 3:54 and Dennis Vanterpool was third in 4:50, for a Heatwave sweep of the three places for boys.
