Jan. 14, 2005 – Electricity to the Cyril E. King Airport and surrounding areas was cut Friday morning when a contractor accidentally dug through underground supply cables.
According to a release from the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority, a crew has been dispatched to fix the problem and service should be restored by the middle of the afternoon.
The repair will take several hours, the release stated, but in the mean time power will be rerouted through above-ground electrical lines.
