March 17, 2005 — Seaborne Airlines and Smiths Ferries have announced the extension of the BVI Connection to Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda. The BVI Connection employs Seaborne's seaplane flights between St. Croix and St. Thomas and Smiths Ferries connecting fast ferry service from St. Thomas to Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda. Omer ErSelcuk, Seaborne's chief marketing officer, said this week, "The BVI Connection allows travelers from St. Croix to take a fun and exciting day or weekend trip to Jost van Dyke or Virgin Gorda."
In a release from Seaborne, ErSelcuk said, "Tourists and residents alike can spend almost four hours enjoying the Baths in Virgin Gorda or five hours at Jost relaxing on the beautiful sands of White Bay or visiting world famous Foxy's, the Soggy Dollar Bar, or Ivan's Beach Bar."
The package price ranges from $175 round trip for Jost van Dyke to $185 for Virgin Gorda. The connection flight leaves St. Croix at 7:15 a.m. and the ferry arrives in Jost van Dyke at 9:20 a.m. and Virgin Gorda at 10:30 a.m. The returning ferry departs Virgin Gorda at 2:15 .p.m. and Jost van Dyke at 3 p.m. The connecting flight departs at 4:15 p.m. and arrives back in St. Croix at 4:40 p.m.
Travelers in St. Thomas may make their bookings for Jost van Dyke or Virgin Gorda by calling Smiths Ferries at 340-775-7292 or Seaborne at 888-FLY-TOUR. Seats may also be booked online by visiting www.seaborneairlines.com.
Packages must be booked by calling reservations at 888-FLY-TOUR and only includes transportation on Seaborne and Smiths. Equipment rental, food and beverage, and BVI departure fee of $5 per person are additional, the release said.
