Six UVI Students Named to 'Who's Who'

April 6, 2005 — Six University of the Virgin Islands students have been named to the 2005 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." All six are students on the St. Thomas campus of UVI. The honorees and their majors are Shoneda B. Alfred, business administration; Andre L. Francis, chemistry and mathematics; Avalyn Goodwin, accounting; Khalilah Gordon, journalism and mass communications; Te'Var A. Malone, mathematics; and Fay Penn, business administration. They join students from more than 2,000 colleges and universities in being selected for this honor.
According to a release from the University of the Virgin Islands, selection criteria included academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. The directory has been published annually since 1934.
