April 6, 2005 – John Neville of St. Croix is this year's World Poker Tour Super-Satellite winner. After four hours of poker finals action, Neville and Anderson Rampersad, also of St. Croix, found themselves in heads-up action for nearly the last hour.
Anderson took second place along with $750 in cash in the action last weekend.
Third and fourth place winners were Garett Bell and Kimball McWayne, both of St. Croix. Garett won $500 for his efforts and Kimball was pleased with his $250 cash prize.
Neville will represent the U.S. Virgin Islands and Divi Carina Bay Casino at the World Poker Tour Satellite Tournament in Las Vegas in mid-April. The $1,000 cash prize he won will most likely be his "fun money" on his trip to the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
All-in-all, nearly 100 poker players participated in this tournament.
Divi Casino announced its next tournament as another satellite event, this one for the World Series of Poker and a seat in the World Series of Poker championship tournament. This tournament will be May 14-15, 2005.
Divi is open seven days a week from noon to 4 a.m., Sunday through Thursday; and from noon on Fridays to 6 a.m. on Sundays. Treasure Bay V.I. Corp, which operates the casino, is the USVI-based subsidiary of Treasure Bay Corp., a casino management company based in Biloxi, Miss. For additional information, call 773-7529 ext. 118.
