April 9, 2005 — The Virgin Islands Tennis Association (VITA) is pleased to announce that the third tournament in the VITA/Innovative Junior Tennis Circuit will be held at the St. Thomas Yacht Club April 15-17. The categories for boys and girls are: 12 and under; 14 and under; 16 and under; and 18 and under. Deadline for sign-up is 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.
This tournament is the third of five that will be used for ranking and selection of junior players for the summer International Tennis Federation circuit in Aruba, Curacao and the Dominican Republic and the 14 and Under ITF Eastern Caribbean Championships in September. The circuit will end with a championship match in May, co-sponsored by Innovative and Antillean Engineers of St. Croix.
In order for junior players to be eligible for selection for the summer ITF circuit, they must play in at least two tournaments – one of which must be on St. Thomas and one on St. Croix – and participate in the Jr. Championships in May.
