Golden Key Inducts 16 on UVI St. Thomas Campus

April 10, 2005 — Sixteen students from the University of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas campus were inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society at a ceremony held on March 20 in the Sports and Fitness Center.
The new inductees were; Jamila Abraham, Julius Aubain, Shurn Baptiste, Racquel Berry, Temesha Buckley, William Davis-McKean, Verda-May Demming, Duane Fraites, Lyna Fredericks, Altina Gardner, Crystal Lezama, Brittany Marshall, Kimone Moving, Shakima Stoutt, Jacinda Webbe and Carissa Webster-Lake.
UVI juniors and seniors who have a 3.3 grade point average or better are eligible to join Golden Key.
During the ceremony Golden Key honorary members were inducted. They were Andrea Hamm a counselor at U.V.I.'s Counseling and Placement Center, Humanities Professor Rosary Harper, Ph.D., and Business Professor Solomon Kabuka, Ph.D. All work at U.V.I.'s St. Thomas campus. Jeanette Smith of the Charlotte Amalie High School was also inducted as an honorary member.
Golden Key International Honor Society is a global, nonprofit organization that provides academic recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their class. It also offers leadership and community service opportunities as well as scholarships. The society has nearly 350 chapters at colleges and universities in North America, South America, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.
