Police Week Being Celebrated on the Islands

May 14, 2005 – The V. I. Police Department is celebrating Police Week with a host of activities – from beach parties to karaoke nights to sports events.
The public is encouraged to participate. A ceremony will be held at Nisky Moravian Church on St. Thomas Sunday to honor officers who have died, after which wreaths will be placed on the officers' graves.
St. Thomas-St. John activities include:
– Monday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open houses at Police Commands in zones A, B and C.
– Tuesday 7 p.m. Fun night at Emile Griffith Ballpark.
– Wednesday noon to 5 p.m. Civilian Day at Roll Call Room in Farrelly Justice Complex.
– Thursday 7 p.m. Karaoke Night at Pilgrim's Terrace.
– Friday 7 p.m. Bowling at the Bolongo Bay bowling alley.
– Saturday 7:30 a.m. to noon Firearm Competition at the Bovoni Firearms Range.
St. Croix activities include:
– Sunday 7 p.m. Bowling at Tropical Ten Pin.
– Monday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elementary schools visit Patrick Sweeney Police Headquarters.
6 p.m. Softball at D. C. Canegata Ballpark.
– Tuesday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Luncheon at Wilbur Francis Command.
6 p.m. Softball at D. C. Canegata Ballpark.
– Wednesday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Luncheon at Ancilmo Marshall Command.
6 p.m. Firearms competition D&J Shooting gallery.
– Thursday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open house at Patrick Sweeney Police Headquarters.
7:30 p.m. Pig Roast at CIB pavilion and Karaoke with Bumpy.
– Friday – no activities scheduled.
Saturday
– 7 a.m. Mini-triathalons at Frederiksted Beach followed by family fun day.
