Aug. 3, 2005 – The Holy Family Parish will celebrate its 58th annual Cassi Hill Pilgrimage on Aug. 14, according to a press release from the Church of the Holy Family. There are two purposes for the pilgrimage: to pray for a lasting peace in the world and to pray to the Mother of God for her intercession to protect the islands from hurricanes.
The pilgrimage will commence as a candlelight procession at 7 p.m. at the northern entrance of Hidden Valley. It will proceed to the church while reciting the rosary interspersed with Marian Hymns. The celebration of the Mass will follow the procession.
A Triduum will be celebrated from Aug. 10 through Aug. 12. The theme is "My Soul Magnifies My Lord," and Deacon Joseph Mark will be the facilitator. Candles will be distributed before the start of the procession. Transportation will be provided for senior citizens and the disabled, and for those parking at Holy Family Church, transportation to the entrance of Hidden Valley will be provided.
The general public is invited to partake in the Triduum and the pilgrimage.
