Aug. 17, 2005 – The Virgin Islands Carnival Committee is now accepting entries for the Official Theme Contest for Carnival 2006. Entries should be a catchy phrase or sentence that summarizes yet defines the spirit of Virgin Islands Carnival. Please include the author's name and a contact telephone number. The winning author will have his or her theme printed on the Official Carnival 2006 schedule and will also receive one Carnival 2006 season pass to all paid VICC events.
The deadline for all entries is Sept. 2, according to a press release from the Carnival Committee. They can be dropped off at the VICC office located across from the Department of Finance on Lower Main Street, St. Thomas, faxed to 777-9199, e- mailed to [email protected], or mailed to:

In other news from VICC, a general meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, for the selection of the official theme for Carnival 2006. All subcommittee chairpersons and members are asked to attend to expedite this process.
