Oct. 11, 2005 Public schools in the territory will reopen Wednesday after inclement weather shut the school system down on Tuesday.
A release from the Education Department said superintendents and school administrators had made assessments on Tuesday. The release was unclear about the findings. It quoted Noreen Michael, Education commissioner as saying, "While several schools suffered flooding and debris at their campuses, overall they [the schools] are in good shape to receive students and staff on Wednesday.
Continued rain and inclement weather is predicted to continue until Friday.
Michael urged parents to "ensure that their children are properly attired for the weather."
