Oct. 13, 2005 – Tune in to Doug Lewis on 107.3 FM Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. This week you'll be entertained with music from Paul McCartney, Will Taylor and Strings Attached, bluegrass band Cherryholmes, and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is the new release from Paul McCartney, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard." Paul's latest CD is receiving very good reviews.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Collaborations" from Will Taylor and Strings Attached. This is a beautiful CD. Will and his group are virtuoso musicians trained in classical and jazz, and they work with various guest artists to come up with new and original arrangements of their songs. Among the guests on this CD are Ruthie Foster, Eliza Gilkyson, Shawn Colvin, Sara Hickman, Slaid Cleaves and others.
We include new music from bluegrass band Cherryholmes, The Del McCoury Band, the blues band Delta Moon, Renee Austin, Elvin Bishop and others.
We also celebrate the birthdays of Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead and remember Chess Records owner Leonard Chess on the anniversary of his death.
We also include tunes from acoustic blues artist Otis Taylor, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Beatles, Dar Williams, Chuck Berry, Otis Rush and more.
Tune in for a chance to win the CD/DVD release from world music band Ozomatli. You get the concert on CD and a bonus CD with the entire concert. Also tune in to win an EP from dobro virtuoso Jerry Douglas. The EP has guest artists who contribute to Jerry's new release.
The Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line, and Sinker and Molly Molones.
