Oct. 19, 2005 – The pilot, who was the only person aboard, was not injured when a Cessna 210 was forced to land on its belly at the Cyril E. King Airport when its landing gear collapsed.
The Port Authority's Airport Rescue Firefighters and Law Enforcement units responded to the incident that occurred at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.
A Property and Procurement vehicle was used to remove the aircraft from the runway, which was shut down temporarily after the accident, according to a release from the V.I. Port Authority.
The plane is registered to Glen Curtis. The name of the pilot was not included in the release. It said only that it was not Curtis.
