Nov. 1, 2005 – Tune into Doug Lewis this Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., on WVGN 107.3 FM. This Sunday you will be entertained by Bonnie Raitt, Terry Hanck, Otis Taylor, and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Souls Alike," the latest release from Bonnie Raitt, which is a very solid release with a number of outstanding tracks.
The Indie Spotlight CD is Terry Hanck's "Night Train." This CD has great sax work and fine vocals from this talented blues man and his band. Terry played for a number of years with Elvin Bishop's band.
We include new music from roots rockers Chris Daniels & the Kings, Dar Williams, acoustic blues artist Otis Taylor, Indiana folk artist Carrie Newcomer, Renee Austin and more.
We also celebrate the birthdays of Texas greats Doug Sahm and Guy Clark, and the Eagle's Glenn Frey.
We also include music from Ricky Skaggs, the Nighthawks, Amy Rigby, Shemekia Copeland, Hudson & the Hoodoo Cats, who arrive here for some local dates in mid-November, and folk artist Patti DeRosa, who visits the territory for some local dates in January.
Tune in for a chance to win some great prizes. We are giving away two great live concert blues CDs, one from Tinsley Ellis and one from Tutu Jones. We also give away Bruce Cockburn's latest CD, which has some outstanding guitar instrumental artistry, and the latest release from Rita Coolidge, who dusts off some old standards in a rather jazzy sounding CD that I think you will enjoy.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line, and Sinker and Molly Molones.
