Nov. 29, 2005 – No one was seriously injured in a three-car accident on St. Peter Mountain Road Tuesday night but one person had to be cut out of his car and all three vehicles were damaged.
The accident, reported around 7 p.m., occurred when a vehicle traveling north from the Four Corners intersection collided with a second car making a turn off the main road into a private driveway.
"The force of impact pushed the second vehicle into a parked sports utility vehicle," according to St. Thomas Rescue Chief Carl Fleming.
Fleming said no one was seriously hurt but the JAWS OF LIFE extrication tool was needed to free the driver of the second vehicle from the wreck.
"His car, a Pontiac Grand AM, was damaged on both sides as a result of it being hit on the driver's side and being pinned against another vehicle," Fleming said. The other vehicles involved included a late model Ford Focus and a Suzuki Vitara.
An ambulance crew was on the scene as were several police units and officers of St. Thomas Rescue.
A police investigation continued Tuesday night. The accident occurred about 500 feet north of Four Corners on St. Thomas' Northside.
