Kim Waters
Like many trendsetters, Kim Waters' career is multi-faceted. In addition to being a lauded saxophonist, he's a composer and producer who has done groundbreaking work in urban smooth jazz, a genre combining R & B and jazz music.
Waters has accomplished much in his 16-years as a professional jazz artist. He has 10 No. 1 hits, 13 chart-topping albums and over a million records sold. His 2004 CD In the Name of Love was high on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart for six months, and it remained on that list for more than a year. He's one of the best-selling instrumentalists in contemporary jazz.
Waters other projects include Streetwize and Tha' Hot Club, in which he performed jazzy versions of hip hop, R & B and reggae hits.
Waters is also known for his good sense of fashion.
Music-lovers can see him at the St. John Christmas Christmas Music Festival Dec. 17.
