UVI-CELL Project Management Seminar Next Week on St. Croix
Registration is open for a UVI-CELL Project Management seminar on St. Croix. The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 12 and 13. Successful Project Management provides students with the skills, concepts and principles to maximize project success on the job. The seminar will cover concepts and the knowledge area of the Project Management Institute (PMI). It is the first step in preparing for the PMI national certification exam. A special, holiday fee of $650 will be charged. The normal fee is $750. The seminar will take place in Research and Extension Center room 139 on UVI's St. Croix campus. Employee Benefits Fairs Set Dec. 6 on St. Croix, Dec. 7 on St. Thomas
UVI's Human Resources Department has scheduled 2005 Employee Benefits/Wellness Fairs for the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses next week. All UVI employees are encouraged to participate. On the St. Croix campus, the fair is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6. It will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Cafetorium. On the St. Thomas campus, the fair is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 7. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sports and Fitness Center. The benefits fair will include detailed information from insurance and financial organizations, various UVI departments, free health screening and free massages. St.Croix Campus Intramural Notes:
Salmon, Christopher Take Tennis Singles Titles
Naita Salmon and Carl Christopher won their respective women's and men's singles titles in the 2005 UVI St.Croix Campus Intramural Tennis Championship. Salmon defeated Marelle Sylvester 8-5 in the women's finals, while Christopher bested Michael Nissman 8-2 for the men's singles title. Team Tennis is scheduled for the 2006 spring semester.
Navarra, Forbes Take First Archery Championships
In a UVI first, Javier Navarra and Venessa Forbes won their respective flights in the men's and women's intramural archery championships. Navarra scored 313 points, while Forbes scored 285 out of a possible 360. Navarra and Forbes teamed up to also win the co-ed team title with a combined score of 598, beating Matt Rhodes and Hahn Dong who combined for a score of 511. A total of 18 archers competed in this first time intramural event.
Spring Intramurals to Include Basketball, Table Tennis and Bowling

UVI Spring '06 Online Registration Continues Through Dec. 16
Online registration for UVI's 2006 spring semester continues through Dec. 16. This applies to online registration only. Students are reminded that the enrollment process is not completed until final payment for courses and fees is made. Dec. 20, 2005, is the deadline for payment for spring semester courses. Spring semester 2006 classes will begin on Thursday, Jan. 12. Class schedules and detailed enrollment information are available on the UVI web site – www.uvi.edu. The final exam period at the University of the Virgin Islands continues through Wednesday, Dec. 7. The fall semester ends on that day.

The administrative end-of-year holiday recess for UVI employees is as follows: Closed Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, through Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. UVI will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006.
St. Thomas Campus Bookstore Offering Sale on Selected Clothing
The Bookstore on UVI's St. Thomas campus is offering a 40-to-60-percent-off sale on selected items of clothing through Dec. 12.
UVI St. Croix Campus Bookstore Sets Text book Buyback Schedule
The UVI St. Croix campus Bookstore has announced that it will operate its text book buyback program through Thursday, Dec. 8. The bookstore is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Jazz With Joe Sample Set January 14 at UVI's Reichhold Center
Jazz pianist and composer Joe Sample will perform at UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts on Jan. 14, 2006. The Reichhold's Ticket Office has announced the following holiday schedule:

UVI MBA Comprehensive Exam Rescheduled for Dec. 9
UVI's MBA Comprehensive Exam, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18, has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 9. The exam will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in room 222 of the Sports and Fitness Center on St.Thomas and in the Research Extension Building room 139 on the St. Croix campus.
