Third Man Arrested in Connection With Geiger Murder Case

Dec. 9, 2005 – A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of David Geiger on Oct. 29 on St. John.
Robert Ferguson, 19, turned himself in Thursday to the Major Crime Unit at the Criminal Justice Complex on St. Thomas, where he was arrested.
Ferguson is charged with attempted murder, accessory after the fact and arson for his alleged role in the incidents at the Geiger home.
Ferguson is reportedly the brother of Renell Lettsome, who on Thursday entered a not guilty plea to a dozen criminal charges all related to Geiger's murder; the attack on Geiger's 14-year-old son Nathan, a robbery at the Geiger home in Estate Grunwald and a subsequent fire there. A fourth suspect, Nester Claire, remains at large, according to Police spokesman, Sgt. Thomas Hannah.
Hannah said Friday that Ferguson had fled the territory shortly after the murder, "He was in Florida, and he returned from Florida to answer the charges against him."
Hannah said, "Although we have made the three arrests … it's still under investigation until all the other suspects are arrested."
Ferguson was arraigned in Superior Court before Judge Brenda Hollar Friday. He is in custody in lieu of $500,000 bail. An advice of rights hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
