Dec. 14, 2005 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM this Sunday, Dec. 18, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday you will be entertained by Traffic, Wendy Colonna, Van Wilks, Honeybrowne, Visions and many others.
The Modern Music Feature CD is Traffic's The Last Great Traffic Jam. This CD was recorded in 1994 when Traffic re-united for a national tour. It includes live versions of a number of classic Traffic songs and is a dual disc, which includes a DVD side featuring, among its highlights, interviews with Traffic members.
The Indie Spotlight CD is Right Where I Belong from Wendy Colonna, an exciting young artist from Austin, Texas who has a great voice and is hard to categorize in one musical style. There are elements of folk, blues, and country in her music. We include new music from Texas guitar slinger Van Wilks, Francis Dunnery, alternative country band Honeybrowne, Paul McCartney and more.
We will celebrate the birthdays of Rod Piazza, Chas Chandler of the Animals, Keith Richards of the Stones, Sam Andrews of Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Lonnie Brooks. We also remember blues sax man Dick Heckstall-Smith on the anniversary of his death.
We also include music from St. John band Inner Visions who appear Sunday at the St. John Music Festival in Cruz Bay. We also include songs from John Mayall, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Deborah Coleman and more.
Tune in for a chance to win some great prizes. We are giving away the new Christmas CD from the folk singing great Odetta and the new solo release from Susan Cowsill.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line, and Sinker and Molly Molones.
