Frenchman's Reef and Human Services Bring Holiday Cheer

0

Dear Source:
On Saturday December 24th, staff from the Department of Human Services distributed gifts donated from the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort to special needs children and those in foster care in an effort to bring them holiday cheer.
Officials at Frenchman's Reef along with the Intervention and Emergency Services Unit at the Department of Human Services decided several months ago to purchase and distribute gifts to needy children on St. Thomas. An excess of 50 gifts were delivered to children ages 2 through 18 who reside at Seaview Home for Children and who receive services from Bethlehem House as well as others in foster care.
Commissioner Sedonie Halbert extends her appreciation to the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort for their efforts to make the holiday special for needy children in the Territory. Additional help to distribute the gifts came from the Office of Collective Bargaining. "Special 'thank you' to Karen Andrews of the Office of Collective Bargaining for her assistance in distributing the gifts on Saturday" says Moleto Smith, Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Evaluation at Human Services.
