Jan. 14, 2005 – Detours and water interruptions are expected through Monday while the Water and Power Authority repairs roads and replaces waterlines.
On Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. water personnel will repair roads in Savan after the successful installation earlier this month of a new two-inch water service main line. The waterline has improved water pressure in the area, according to Cassandra Dunn, WAPA spokeswoman. There will be no through traffic allowed from Gamle Gade onto Borger Gade. Traffic will be rerouted thru Small Straede back onto General Gade. There will be no through traffic allowed on Borger Gade to Princesse Gade while work is in progress. No water service interruption is anticipated, according to the release from Dunn.
On Monday, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., water crews will replace a 50-foot section of a 10-inch water main line in front of the FirstBankVI Waterfront branch. . . There will be no through traffic allowed from Veteran's Drive onto Guttets Gade (the road between First Bank and Pizza Hut). Water service will be interrupted to the bank and adjacent customers while work is in progress.
Motorists are asked to obey all traffic directions.
