Jan. 24, 2006 – Tune in to the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM this Sunday, Jan. 29, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday you will be entertained by Jack Ingram, Frank Carillo and the Bandoleros, Otis Rush, Anna Cheek and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Live Wherever You Are" by country roots rocker Jack Ingram. The CD was mostly recorded live at the legendary Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas. Gruene is a town that is about two blocks long, but Gruene Hall always presents a killer music lineup. The CD is augmented with a few studio tracks.
The Indie Spotlight CD is Frank Carillo and the Bandoleros' "Bad Out There". This group and this CD are making some real noise on the Americana charts.
We include new music from Dave Gerard and Truffle, who will be making a return trip to the Virgin Islands in February, as well as new releases from Robinella and the CC Stringband, Ryan Adams, Jamie Cullum, Otis Rush and more.
We also celebrate the birthdays of the folk icon Leadbelly and R&B songstress Bettye Lavette. There will also be music from Anna Cheek, who finishes her Virgin Islands tour at Chenay Bay Beach Resort on the 29th. And we will play music from Patti DeRosa, who will be playing in the territory in early February.
We also include songs from John Fogerty, Rosie Flores, Solomon Burke, Patty Griffin and more. We include music from the Ojays who will play here at the Reichhold Center on Feb. 18.
Tune in for a chance to win some great prizes. We are giving away the new CD from Texas singer-songwriter Guy Forsyth, as well as the latest CD release from the re-united Blasters.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line, and Sinker, Molly Molones, and Steve Simon and the St. John Blues Festival.
