Per Ankh Presents 'Afrakan' Black History Month Activities

Jan. 31, 2006 – In observance and commemoration of Afrakan Black History Month, February 2006, Per Ankh Holistic Retreat Sa Ankh Tu Ary is hosting the following opening events during the first week of February:
¨ Friday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. – Per Ankh is hosting An Evening of Afrakan History, cultural education, martial arts, healing and natural wellness with:
o Mfundishi Jhutyms Ka-en-Heru Hassan Kamau Salim aka "Baaba Mfundishi," ordained priest, international scholar, master martial artist and author of "Spiritual Warriors Are Healers."
o A'but Seshatms Ma'atnefert, math and science educator; global sacred woman teacher and priestess.
o Native Virgin Islander Sensei Faulkner, master martial arts instructor and founding director of "Warriors' Dance School of Arts of St. Thomas."
Refreshments, Afrakan crafts and copies of "Spiritual Warriors Are Healers" will be available.
¨ Saturday, Feb. 4, from noon to 3 p.m. – Per Ankh is hosting martial arts and Afrakan History classes and presentations. Participants are asked to wear loose fitting clothes appropriate for doing exercise and free-flowing movements.
Admission is free and donations are accepted. The entire community is invited. All activities are being held at Per Ankh, 72A Estate La Grange , Frederiksted, St. Croix (On the Old Montessori Grounds at the corner of Mahogany Road, north of the Frederiksted Ballpark and Crucian Festival Village Grounds).
