Feb. 1, 2006 – Tune in to the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM this Sunday, Feb. 5, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday you will be entertained by Buckwheat Zydeco, Dave Kleiner, Maria Muldaur, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "100% Fortified Zydeco" from Buckwheat Zydeco. This is a re-issue of the first Buckwheat Zydeco CD, and it contains some rocking zydeco music. You won't be able to stay sitting as you listen to it.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "This Human Heart" by singer-songwriter Dave Kleiner. Kleiner's guest artists on the CD include talented violinist Diane Monroe who will be appearing at Tillet Gardens on Feb. 15.
We include new music from Dave Gerard and Truffle, who will be making a return trip to the Virgin Islands in February as well as new releases from the North Mississippi All Stars, Tim Grimm, Tom Paxton, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and others. We also celebrate the birthdays of rock great Al Kooper and Cory Wells of Three Dog Night. We remember Bill Haley and the Comets sax man Rudy Pompeii on the anniversary of his death and also pay tribute to Wilson Pickett, who recently passed away.
We also include music from Dick Solberg, who is currently playing throughout the territory and Ruthie Foster, who will be performing at Tillet Gardens on March 1. We also include songs from Paul McCartney, Dr. John, Maria Muldaur, Rodney Crowell, bluegrass band Cherryholmes and more.
We will also play music from the Ojays, who perform here at the Reichhold Center on Feb. 18, and we will be giving away tickets for their show.
Tune in for a chance to also win the latest Grammy nominated release from Herbie Hancock as well as a chance to win the debut release from country rockers Sugarland, who are nominated for a Grammy as Best New Artists.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, Molly Molones, and Steve Simon and the St. John Blues Festival.
