Feb. 7, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM this Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday you will be entertained by the music of Roseanne Cash, KJ Denhert, Giveway, the Indigo Girls and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Black Cadillac," the new release from Roseanne Cash. This is another strong release from Roseanne with a number of fine original songs. The Indie Spotlight CD is "Girl Like Me" from KJ Denhert. KJ frequently visits the Caribbean and plays often on St. Barts. She has a style that might be called urban folk.
We include new music from Dave Gerard and Truffle, who will be making a return trip to the Virgin Islands in February, as well as new releases from Jill Block, who is a member of the Big Happy and will visit the islands in March. There will also be new music from Freebo, James McMurtry, Celtic band Giveway, Saffire the Uppity Blues Women and more. We also feature music from the Rolling Stones, who will be playing in Puerto Rico on Feb. 11, and from Ruthie Foster, who plays at Tillett Gardens on March 1.
We also celebrate the birthday of Ray Manzarek of the Doors, and include music from the Danny Morris Band, who will finish up their Virgin Islands tour this weekend.
We also play songs from Mitch Kashmar, the Indigo Girls, Sara Hickman, Elvin Bishop and more.
We include music from the Ojays, who will play here at the Reichhold Center on Feb. 18.
Tune in for a chance to win a compilation of cool blues and rockabilly tunes written in tribute to the Cadillac and also for a chance to win the latest CD from the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, Molly Molones, and Steve Simon and the St. John Blues Festival.
