Feb. 8, 2006 – The St. Croix Hotel & Tourism Association (SCHTA) has invited the Director of International Development for the Throgmartin Company Adam Holwerda to speak at their February Membership meeting scheduled for Feb. 16, at 5 p.m., at Hibiscus Beach Resort. The company recently announced plans to develop a 1,327-acre resort and residential community at Annaly Bay on St. Croix's scenic north coast.
"We are always excited to see new developments on St. Croix," said Fred Laue, president of the SCHTA. "Additions to our hotel product help to generate new interest in the destination and ensure that St. Croix remains competitive in the industry."
The proposed development, scheduled to break ground in mid-2007, includes three new distinctly different hotels, totaling approximately 1,000 rooms, hilltop residences, a conference center, an equestrian facility, golf academy and a par-three practice course. Each hotel will be managed by a leading American or international hospitality brand. Future plans include a casino and an 18-hole golf course. The company will maintain the natural and cultural significance of the area.
The meeting is open to the public. For additional information on this meeting, contact Tanya Duran at 774-6835.
