Local Woodturners Give Presentation at UVI
The Virgin Islands Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. (VI RC&D) invites the public to attend a woodturning presentation by local artisans on Feb. 28, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center Training Room.
The woodturners will provide the public with an opportunity to experience the art of woodturning and to dialogue with them. The presentation will cover such areas as woodturning styles and techniques, wood collecting, tools of the trade, and the differences in and types of materials used in the Virgin Islands. Several pieces of work from the presenters will also be on display.
