Reggae Artist Washington to Perform at Reichhold


Feb. 27, 2006–Jamaican reggae artist Glen Washington, who calls his recent album "a cultural mix, featuring roots and culture, along with love songs," will perform at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.
Washington has released a series of hit albums since his first in 1998. He earned the Reggae Soca Music Award for Best Reggae Male Vocalist and Reggae New Artist in 1998, and he won the award for and Reggae Album of the Year in 2000. Washington has been in the music business for more than 20 years, first as a singer and later as a touring drummer. He played with Calabash, Shinehead, Junior Reid, Gregory Isaacs, and Sister Carol. But he returned to singing in the late 1990s.
The Reichhold Center performance will feature a special guest appearance from St. Thomian Pressure, whose has a current hit song called "No Limitations."
The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, March 25.
Tickets for the concert are $45, $35 and $25, depending on seating. Tickets are available at Parrot Fish, Modern Music in Havensight, Krystal & Gifts Galore, the University of the Virgin Islands Bookstore and the Reichhold Center Box Office.
